At its annual Connect event, Meta unveiled a number of improvements and debuted its first augmented reality glasses. This comes as the company is pushing hard to incorporate AI elements into its many platforms, which include Facebook and Instagram.

Augmented reality glasses like Meta's Orion, according to Meta, allow for "digital experiences that are unconstrained by the limits of a smartphone screen." It also said that contextual AI-enabled holographic displays in the Orion glasses can anticipate and proactively respond to user demands.

Meta also revealed the Meta Quest 3 mixed reality headset, which is more affordable and will retail on October 15 for $299.

After receiving several improvements, Meta AI, the company's AI assistant, can now reply to enquiries on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and other platforms. Additionally, users of Meta AI would have a choice of voices, including the AI replicas of well-known people with whom Meta has collaborated.

According to Meta, 400 million people visit Meta AI at least once a month.
