Foxconn, a leading electronics manufacturer based in Taiwan, and Nvidia, the American tech giant known for its cutting-edge AI chips, are planning to introduce humanoid robots at a new AI server manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas.
The upcoming Houston facility will produce Nvidia’s GB300 AI servers, marking a major step forward in the use of robotic automation within high-tech manufacturing. If the plans proceed as expected, it will be the first Nvidia production site to incorporate humanoid robotics on the assembly line, and Foxconn’s first AI server plant globally to implement such technology.
According to a recent report from Reuters, the companies are expected to finalise their agreement in the coming months. The integration of humanoid robots in the Houston factory is seen as a significant innovation in the future of smart manufacturing, reflecting the growing trend of combining artificial intelligence with robotics to streamline production.
Foxconn is currently developing its own AI-powered humanoid robots in partnership with Nvidia. In parallel, the company has also tested models created by Chinese robotics manufacturer UBTech. While the exact robot models, appearance, and deployment numbers remain unspecified, the goal is to have them operational by the first quarter of next year—aligned with the scheduled launch of GB300 server production.
The Houston AI server plant was chosen as the site for this robotics rollout due to its status as a newly constructed facility, offering ample space and infrastructure ideal for accommodating advanced robotics systems. Compared to existing manufacturing sites, the Houston location provides greater flexibility for integrating the latest industrial automation technologies.
