IAG is allegedly considering paying out dividends this year

IAG, the company that owns British Airways, may reinstate dividend payments as soon as this year, according to a Friday story by Bloomberg News that referenced sources with knowledge of the situation.

After the pandemic rocked the airline sector in 2019, IAG stopped making final dividends and only paid an interim dividend of 0.145 euros per share.

In a late-Friday email answer, an IAG representative—which also owns the airlines Aer Lingus and LEVEL—stated that the company would not comment on rumours or conjecture and that the board would decide whether to declare a dividend.

The firm stated in February that there were no limits on dividend payments from the primary operating businesses, with the exception of British Airways, which had several committed credit lines that were still undrawn. However, the board had suggested that no dividend should be paid for 2023.

IAG's largest and most profitable airline is British Airways, according to the company's most recent annual report.
