Trump Unveils $90 Billion in AI and Energy Investments for Pennsylvania

Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced more than $90 billion in new investments from American companies, targeting artificial intelligence (AI) and energy infrastructure in Pennsylvania. The announcement was made during an event held at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

According to Trump, 20 major technology firms have committed a total of $92 billion to projects across the state. Among the largest contributors are Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) and Blackstone (NYSE: BX), each pledging $25 billion for the development of data centres and natural gas power facilities. Additionally, CoreWeave is investing $6 billion to expand its data centre footprint in the region.

The total investment figure exceeds earlier estimates, which suggested around $70 billion in commitments, as reported by Bloomberg prior to the official announcement.

This influx of capital highlights a broader trend of increased private sector investment in AI and energy infrastructure across the United States. Earlier this year, OpenAI and SoftBank (OTC: SFTBY) revealed plans to invest $500 billion in U.S.-based AI facilities. More recently, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) pledged significant funding—amounting to hundreds of billions—to strengthen its AI capabilities.

Trump reiterated his commitment to fostering a favourable regulatory environment for artificial intelligence, while also pushing for expanded domestic energy production. With AI technology placing growing demands on energy consumption, investment in infrastructure has become a central priority for both government and industry leaders.
