Due to the company's changing objectives, Apple let off around 100 employees in its digital services division, according to a Bloomberg story on Tuesday.

Bloomberg reported, citing sources close to the subject, that the layoffs affected workers who worked under Senior Vice President Eddy Cue on many projects. The staff who worked on Apple's bookshop services had the most layoffs.

With an increasing wave of layoffs among its major industry peers, the Cupertino-based software behemoth has generally kept its workforce; this action represents a rare instance of employment losses by the company.

In addition to launching a number of AI technologies in its products, the company plans to reveal the most recent version of its flagship iPhone in early September. With nearly a year of falling device sales, there is growing confidence that AI can help revive growth. The iPhone 16 will be the focus of Apple's AI campaign.

Apple reportedly shelved its eagerly anticipated auto project earlier this year in order to concentrate on artificial intelligence. It was stated that the corporation had reallocated around 2,000 workers, perhaps resulting in layoffs.
